కంద పద్యాలు

అలవోకగ గురు కృపచే 

తలపోయగ తెలుగు వేల్పు తరువిడు ఛాయన్ 

నలుగురు తెలియగ నుడివెద  

కలుషాపహ సచ్చరితమికను గురుదాసా

alavōkaga guru kr̥pacē
talapōyaga telugu vēlpu taruviḍu chāyan
naluguru teliyaga nuḍiveda
kaluṣāpaha saccaritamikanu gurudāsā

Meaning: O Gurudasa! As I think now, for the benefit of all, sitting in the shade given by the celestial tree (kalpavriksha) called Telugu, by the grace of the Guru, I shall write about the deeds and the character which will deliver from darkness.

గురుడే యట పద్మభవుడు

గురుడే ఈ జగము గాచు గోవిందుండున్

గురుడే ఆ పరమశివుడు

గురుడే సర్వము గురుతుగ గురి గురుదాసా

guruḍē yaṭa padmabhavuḍu
guruḍē ī jagamu gācu gōvinduṇḍun
guruḍē ā paramaśivuḍu
guruḍē sarvamu gurutuga guri gurudāsā

Meaning: O Gurudasa! The guru is the creator (by creating knowledge), Brahma. He is the protector (by protecting the virtue) of the worlds, Vishu (Govinda). He is also the destroyer (by destroying the ignorance), Shiva.

అవివేకము కూడి జనులు

చవిచూడగ అల్ప సుఖము జననములొందన్

సవివేకము కలిగింపగ

అవతారములెత్తె చూడుమది గురుదాసా

avivēkamu kūḍi janulu
cavicūḍaga alpa sukhamu jananamulondan
savivēkamu kaligimpaga
avatāramulette cūḍumadi gurudāsā

Meaning: O Gurudasa! People take several forms and live to satisfy their wants. Take note that Guru has also took several forms to lead them to a right path.  

చదువులు సాయము సేయవు 

వదలక నిన్నంటిరారు వలచిన మనుజుల్ 

కదులును ఆగక కాలము 

మదినిల్పిన వేల్పు దిక్కు మరి గురుదాసా

Caduvulu sāyamu sēyavu
vadalaka ninnaṇṭirāru valacina manujul
kadulunu āgaka kālamu
madinilpina vēlpu dikku mari gurudāsā

Meaning: O Gurudasa! A day comes when your education does not help. Nor do the people whom you like come after you. Time is unstoppable and goes by. Thus, seek knowledge and wisdom (the Guru) for your benefit.

భామలు ఎందరు యున్నను
కోమలి తన మనసెరిగిన గుణమణి కోసం
ఝాములు ఎన్నైన నిలిచి
నీమముగా యుండ పాడి నిజ గురుదాసా

Bhāmalu endaru yunnanu 
kōmali tana manaserigina guṇamaṇi kōsaṁ 
jhāmulu ennaina nilici 
nīmamugā yuṇḍa pāḍi nija gurudāsā

Meaning: O Gurudasa! There are many women in the world. But it is best to wait any number of days for one who shines with virtues and completely understands you.
